1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to the DifferSeek (全提问) browser extension and related official website pages (collectively, the "Extension" or "we"). It explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

Scope: This policy describes only features currently available to users. Capabilities not yet publicly released are not covered here; we will update this policy when such features launch.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information sent to our servers

  • Anonymous device identifier (user_token): Automatically generated on install or startup for instance identification, visit statistics, and remote configuration.
  • Extension metadata: Extension ID, version, browser type (e.g. Chrome, Edge, 360), and UI language (Chinese or English).
  • Visit records: When you open the full workspace, we record visit timestamps linked to your token for product improvement.
  • Remote configuration requests: When fetching platform lists and feature flags, we send the metadata above — not your conversation content.
  • Optional account login: If you choose email login, we process your email address and verification code, and store a session token (JWT) and a basic account snapshot locally after login.
  • Uninstall feedback: If you complete the uninstall survey, we receive your selected reason, optional text, and (if present in the URL) anonymous token and extension version.

2.2 Information stored only on your device

  • Questions, attachments, and AI answers: When you use concurrent questioning, content is sent directly to third-party AI/search platforms you choose — not routed through or uploaded to AIChatProxy servers.
  • Session history, per-column page URLs, layout and theme preferences, and onboarding state.
  • Highlight records (stored in extension IndexedDB; deleted when you uninstall or clear extension data).
  • Content exported as Markdown, images, or PDF (generated locally on your device).

2.3 Information sent to third-party AI/search platforms

When you select an AI or search service and send a question, your text, attachments (where supported), and session data required by that platform are handled under that platform's own privacy policy. We are not responsible for third-party data practices; please review each platform's terms.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide and maintain core extension features (multi-platform questioning, session restore, UI preferences, etc.).
  • Deliver remote platform configuration and feature flags.
  • Authenticate optional accounts and maintain login sessions.
  • Measure installs and usage to improve the product (via anonymous tokens — not conversation content).
  • Process uninstall survey feedback to improve user experience.

We do not sell your personal information and do not use third-party ad or analytics trackers such as Google Analytics.

4. Storage and Retention

  • Local storage: Preferences and session data are kept in chrome.storage, full-page localStorage, and IndexedDB until you uninstall the extension or clear extension data.
  • Server-side: Anonymous tokens, visit records, optional account data, and uninstall feedback are stored on our servers for as long as needed for operations, security, and compliance. Contact us below to request access to or deletion of account-related data.
  • Login sessions: Email login JWTs are stored locally for approximately 30 days (per server issuance), after which re-login is required.

5. Sharing and Third Parties

  • AI/search platforms: Services you actively choose (e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, Doubao) receive your questions and related data on their pages.
  • Uninstall survey page: After uninstall, you may be directed to a static survey at u.aichatproxy.com; submissions are sent to our API.
  • No sale to advertisers: We do not sell personal information to third parties or share it for targeted advertising.

6. Browser Permissions

The Extension requests the following permissions:

  • tabs: Open or focus AI platform tabs, the full workspace, and OAuth helper login pages.
  • scripting: Inject scripts into platform pages to enter questions, read answer status, and support highlights and exports.
  • storage: Save preferences, anonymous tokens, and optional login credentials.
  • declarativeNetRequest: Adjust request headers so some AI sites load correctly in embedded iframes.
  • webNavigation: Track iframe URL changes for session restore and OAuth completion.
  • Host access (<all_urls>): Run necessary scripts on AI/search domains and embedded subframes; dark mode applies only inside extension iframes.
  • bookmarks (optional): Save the workspace to your bookmarks bar only when you explicitly choose to.

7. Data Security

  • Communication with our API primarily uses HTTPS (https://api.aichatproxy.com).
  • We apply reasonable technical and administrative safeguards, but no Internet transmission is completely secure.
  • The uninstall survey page may call our API over HTTP in some environments; we continue to improve transport security.

8. Your Choices and Rights

  • Stop using: You may uninstall the extension at any time; this removes local extension data (highlights, session history, etc.).
  • Optional login: Email login is optional; core questioning works without an account.
  • Clear data: You can clear this extension's storage from your browser's extension management page.

9. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected a child's information in error, please contact us to delete it.

10. Policy Updates

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. For material changes, we may notify you via the website or in-extension notices. Continued use of the Extension constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
